About US
Boston-based punk/emo outfit Trash Rabbit has been playing together since 2018. Founding members guitarist/vocalist Mena Lemos, bassist/vocalist Nic Adams, and drummer Gibran Mobarak, met in high school, where they began writing songs and sneaking into college house parties in the local DIY scene to play. Known for their energetic live performances that stand out in the current wave of indie, Trash Rabbit has made a name for themselves as one of Boston’s most entertaining and powerful groups. Taking inspiration from all kinds of music, primarily punk and emo, with jazz as a close second, the band created a unique and refreshing sound that’s been fueling mosh pits from their start. Guitarist Gia Flores joined the group in 2022 adding a new shimmering voice to the band’s sound.
Since then, Trash Rabbit has played countless shows both in their hometown and across the northeast. They’ve opened for acts such as Guerrilla Toss, Speedy Ortiz, and Prawns, and have played many of their hometown’s most prominent venues such as the Sinclair, Brighton Music Hall, and House of Blues. They most recently have released a multitude of singles: Rock Bottom, Rubberneck, and Ace Anthem, which showcase the sonic signature that Trash Rabbit has to offer. The band is releasing their third EP, Headaches, this coming January, a testament to their routes and influences in 2010s emo, catchy melodies, and strong riffs, but also displays the comfort and chemistry they’ve grown as a band over the course of 6 years with their most polished recorded work yet.
“There’s a reason you don’t see too many garage-rock bands entering the Tiny Desk Contest: it’s extraordinarily difficult to bottle up the energy of a basement show and reproduce it in someone’s living room. But that’s exactly what the Boston-based Trash Rabbit managed to do in their Tiny Desk submission”
“This Boston trio plays spiky, slightly grunged-up pop-punk; check out their YouTube channel for a passionate live version of their 2019 track “Lab Jazz,” which showcases emotionally wrought vocals and a pumping bass line.”

“Trash Rabbit considers the community around the music to be one of the most vital parts of playing and performing. As much as they’re about the music, they’re also about the world that forms around the music.”
